Overall design and integration capability for simulation system

 

As a high-tech enterprise engaged in integration and application development of simulation software and hardware system, BASC has accumulated plenty of experience in overall design and system integration.

 

BASC has established close cooperative relationship with world famous simulator manufacturers and relevant equipment manufacturers, such as Thales, SEOS, FCS, SGI, MultiGen-Paradigm. BASC is able to undertake the development and manufacture of simulation systems of various configurations and functions.

 

Development capability for visual system

 

The development of visual system has always been a focal point in the R&D activities of BASC. BASC has a team specialized in the development of visual system. They have successfully completed the development programs of the real-image visual system adopting pitch and azimuth dual-channel head-tracking technology for Air Force full flight training device, the real-image visual system adopting three-channel edge-blending technology for armed helicopter, the typical virtual image visual systems for K8E training aircraft and MA60 airliner simulators, and the 9~12-pannel back projection real-image visual system.

 

Simulation development capability for instrument and avionic systems

 

In the process of development and production of various flight simulators, BASC has been continuously making innovations in the simulation technologies for various airborne equipment, instruments, avionic systems, and fire control systems. It has completed the simulation development of several new-type integrated avionic systems, such as the airborne GPS/integrated navigation management, GPS/inertial navigation, ground proximity warning, weather radar, TCAS, TACAN and VOR/ILS, various EFIS, modification of multi-function display and pointer-type instrument, new-type FCC, various airborne communication equipment, different fire-control radar and head-up display, as well as electronic countermeasure warfare.

 

Through the independent development of different special digital bus interface circuits for ARINC, CSDB and Manchester and the independent development of function software for various avionic and fire control systems, BASC has given perfect simulation of the functions of these systems within the flight simulators. The simulation effects are just like those of the real aircraft in terms of the system characteristics, operation mode and display content. BASC holds the domestic leading position in this area of technology.

 

Development capability for control loading system

 

In the process of development of different simulators, BASC has experienced the development of the control loading system from analog to digital type, and from hydraulic to electric power type. It has accumulated large amounts of know-how and development experiences. For example, in the area of computer digital controlled electric powered control loading system, BASC has successfully developed advanced servo control arithmetic and system simulation arithmetic. As a pioneer in China, BASC has already made successful applications of the computer digital controlled electric powered control loading system on three simulators of two different types.

 

Development capability for motion system

 

BASC has developed LD-1 and LD-2 series 6-DOF hydraulic motion systems and has already applied them on flight simulators such as Y7-100. The company also has the ability to produce electric-actuated motion system and popular type 3-DOF and 6-DOF motion systems for simulators or entertainment facilities.

 

Development capability for interface system

 

BASC has developed the interface system which is a real-time control system based on VME bus. Under the control of the real-time management software, it performs the conversion and transmission between the computer internal data and the physical variables of the outside equipment, thus realizing the main computer real-time control over the outside equipment and data acquisition. The system has modular design, with high integration, low power consumption, compact size, and stable performance, able to work 24 hours continuously. Each function module provides relative interface functions to corresponding outside equipment. The distribution type I/O unit is able to make modular block expansion and multi-point control. It features sophisticated fault diagnosis design. The built-in testing circuitry can perform online automatic testing, giving easy maintenance. Using modern electronic technology, the interface system has fewer circuit boards, smaller space requirement, lower power consumption, but higher overall reliability and lower maintenance and operation costs.

 

Development capability for airborne avionic equipment

 

BASC has a team specialized in the development of airborne avionic products for many years. They have rich experiences in project planning, product design, production engineering, quality assurance, and after-sales service. As a constant principle, BASC widely uses high-speed embedded computer software, hardware and real-time multi-mission operation environment with the airborne synthetic display, intelligent radio altimeter, air data comprehensive testing, and airborne electro-mechanical products. These kinds of products have reached the international advanced level.

 

BASC has a production line for the assembly and acceptance inspection of modern electronic products, capable of batch production with a perfect quality management system.

 

Flight system software

 

In 1990, the company completed the subject of 8908 software analysis and won a second-class award of science and technology progress by the Ministry of Aviation and Space Industry in 1992. BASC has developed its flight system on the basis of the 8908 study, and has basically kept pace with the international progress in terms of software development and application. Meanwhile, BASC has also developed a non real-time work environment in C language on PC for the flight system. In this environment, the matlab software tool is used with matrix as the basic data structure. In this way, the efficiency is increased in the non real-time tuning of flight software.

 

ST-RTMsys real-time software running platform

 

BASC has developed the ST-RTMsys real-time software running platform. It contains two parts of real-time computer and real-time management software. It features high platform, compact coupling, stable running, and high expansion. The real-time computer uses the vxWorks embedded operation system for the first time. The software efficiently solves the problems of simulation software clock control, data flow control, and interface control, thus ensuring the real-time running of the simulation software.
